The Journal of Property Rights in Transition (JPRT) is published in American English. Please submit manuscripts via email as attachments in Microsoft Word format. Provide the author’s name, title, affiliation, contact information and a brief biography. Manuscripts should be between 25-50 pages including notes, tables, images and other graphics. Format documents using 12-point Times New Roman, double-space, one-inch margins, left justified in US letter size (8.5 x 11 inches). Follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 15th/16th Editions for citations, unless otherwise indicated. A quick guide is available online: www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html. JPRT is not a legal journal and therefore it does not follow The Bluebook style. Do not use word processing automatic functions to create notes, instead indicate notes by numbers enclosed in parentheses. Notes, images, figures and any other graphics should be in separate files. DO NOT embed them in the main text. Use only one space after periods. Include suggested captions for photographs and graphics.

JPRT seeks to reach a broad audience, thus please limit academic and technical jargon. If this terminology is necessary to the topic, define it within the text. Include all foreign accents and italicize words in languages other than English. Include the full name of any person in their first mention. Spell out acronyms in their first mention. Follow day-month-year format for dates within the main text.

We seek original research and policy articles on topics relevant to the protection of and violations against private property rights anywhere in the world. Case and comparative studies are welcomed. Occasionally, anecdotal manuscripts based on personal experiences with private property rights will be accepted. Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary copyright permissions for items included in their manuscript before submission. Do not submit manuscripts that have been published or are under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Article Access

Authors receive an electronic copy of their article and the electronic journal issue of the Journal of Property Rights in Transition in which their article appears.
